VISUALS

Watching Casey Neistat after (primary) school while slurping on shin ramen was where it all began— the way he told stories was no bullshit, playful and packed with energy. He had a way of taking you on a ride that felt so chaotic, yet always engaging. But breaking it down, each moment is intentional with a clear underlying structure and building towards communicating an overarching message. He inspired me to share my own voice through filmmaking and at the age of 14, I shot my first wedding.

Looking back, it's wild to think someone trusted a kid like me to capture their important day, but to my surprise (and relief), they loved the film. Word spread quickly, and before I knew it, I became the new kid on the block—literally.

For the next 4 years, I worked tirelessly, sharpening my skills and maturing as a filmmaker and person. I wanted to understand what it meant to capture love, not in the way that its stereotypically depicted but all the nuances of it, because it's felt differently at every wedding. I launched Jiang Visuals in 2021 at the age of 18. Being one of the youngest in the industry, I felt a constant need to prove myself— to show that my age wasn’t a limitation, and to achieve my goal of introducing a fresh, genuine approach to storytelling.

Storytelling to me isn't about impressive transitions or effects but being able to grasp and uncover the unique bond between 2 people that leads to commitment of a lifetime. The distinctive love between each couple is what captivates me and shapes my work. My process is instinctual and driven by a structure that elicits an emotional response. Every shot contains energy and feeling, extracting and sequencing this allows me to create films that are personal, attentive and real, because I want to create work that lingers in the heart of those who experience it.

I REMIND MYSELF

Ultimately, I create because I believe in the power of storytelling. I often remind myself that a good film should be resonating even if the viewer doesn't know the couple. Because the moments captured presents something we all share as humans; joy, sadness and love. I want to share this captured love with the world, to remind each other what truly matters, to bring people closer to those they cherish and to help others relive the emotions that define their journey.

Love is the thread that connects it all.
